I have been quilting since May of 1997 and machine quilting my own quilts the entire time. In October of 2001 I started quilting professionally on a Gammill long-arm machine. By the end of 2002 I had quilted 328 quilts. I have had quilts juried into the Houston International Quilt Festival and have won several awards in smaller shows in north Texas. I was awarded a Merit ribbon for long arm quilting at the Parker County quilt show in September of 2002 and 2005.
My prices start at 1.5 cents per square inch. (Multiply the
width of your quilt top by the length and then multiply that by 1.5 cents.) That
cost includes simple pantograph patterns and meandering. Custom quilting prices
start at 2.5 cents per square inch depending on the difficulty of the quilting. I
carry Hobbs 80/20, 100% cotton or wool batting or you may supply your own. I use
Signature 100% cotton thread. I charge $5 per quilt for solid colored thread and
a new needle. Variegated thread is $12.00. |
